A standard fence installation doesn't always get you all the way there. At Inline Security Fence, we build upgrades in-house using the same crew and the same standard as your original fence — from a gate that opens on command to pet containment that actually holds. No catalog. No subcontractors.
Real Feedback from Seattle–Tacoma Property Owners
Posted on Mark K2026-06-30 Jason and his team did a fantastic job walking me through the process of getting my old un-sturdy fence replaced. Communication was never an issue. There is lots of knowledge on this team. The new fence was beautiful and the entire job was done in a timely manner. I highly recommend them for anyone searching for a fence work!Posted on Eduard Kostyukevich2026-06-30 Inline Security Fence installed 200’ of Black Chain Link fencing at my property and I can’t be more happy with the result!Posted on Matt Thomas2026-06-30 Enjoyed having Inline install our fence. They were quick with the estimate and with the install. We were recommended the hog wire fence with the post and pipe and definitely love the result. Would recommend!Posted on CP2026-06-09 With Jason's guidance and design, and Valerii and Ivan's construction and machinist skills we have a very secure and operable gate and fence. We would use them again.Posted on Daniel Svistun2026-05-27 We honestly could not be happier with the entire experience working with InLine security Fence. From start to finish, the process was smooth, professional, and stress-free. We had a commercial chain-link fence installed, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. Their communication was excellent throughout the whole project. The crew showed up on time, worked hard, kept everything organized, and clearly knew what they were doing. You can tell they take pride in their work and genuinely care about doing the job right. The fence came out solid, clean, and professionally installed with great attention to detail. It’s hard to find companies nowadays that actually deliver exactly what they promise, but InLine absolutely did. We are very glad we chose them and honestly have zero complaints about the entire process. If you are looking for a reliable fencing company that does quality commercial work and stands behind what they do, I highly recommend InLine Fence.Posted on Pano Varelas2026-05-26 We hired Inline Security Fence to install a reinforced chain-link fence at our facility and were thoroughly impressed. They provided fast, professional welding for our chain link and ornamental iron gates. Highly recommend their services!Posted on Stephanie Quinn2026-04-10 Very friendly and professional!
Most fence upgrades are significantly simpler and less expensive to build into the original installation than to retrofit later. Anti-dig protection means excavating along a finished fence line. Gate arbors mean re-working posts. Automated operators need a gate structure built to handle the load — if it isn’t, the operator won’t last.
We bring this up at every consultation because we’ve been called back to retrofit things that should have been part of the original build. It costs more and takes longer. The conversation now costs nothing.
Starting at $7/linear foot
For dogs that dig and wildlife that squeeze under. We install 2×6 pressure-treated boards two inches into the ground along the fence base — pressure-treated specifically because untreated wood in direct soil contact won’t last in Seattle’s climate.
Honest caveat: This works for dogs that dig shallowly, which is most. For dogs that dig two feet or deeper, tell us — we’ll spec a buried mesh apron or concrete footer instead. We’d rather solve the problem than sell you something that won’t.
Two add-ons, one goal: keeping your gate working properly for as long as possible.
Gate Arbors (starting at $350/gate): Cedar arbors tie the two gate posts together above the opening, distributing load and resisting the post lean that causes gates to fail over time. They also look intentional rather than utilitarian. If you want something more architectural — extended rafters, decorative corbels — we build those too.
Stainless Steel Turnbuckles (starting at $150/gate): Gate sag is physics, not poor installation. A diagonal turnbuckle across the gate frame lets you correct it with a two-minute wrench adjustment rather than re-hanging hardware. We specify stainless because galvanized corrodes faster in our climate. Recommended on every gate six feet wide or wider.
A gate that doesn’t open reliably is worse than no gate.
We build and install automated swing gates, slide gates, and bi-fold gates from the ground up — gate structure, operator, hardware, and programming in one job. The operator is sized to the gate, not the other way around. If you’re adding automation to an existing gate, we’ll assess whether the structure can handle it before we install anything.
Access control options include keypads, intercoms, card readers, loop detectors, safety sensors, and phone-based access apps. If you have an existing security system, tell us the make and model and we’ll spec for compatibility.
Pricing varies by gate type and operator specification. Contact us for a site quote.
Board-on-Board (starting at $10/linear foot): Overlapping cedar boards eliminate the gaps that standard fence installation leaves between boards. Complete privacy from any angle, better wind resistance in exposed Seattle yards, and a more finished look. Uses roughly 30% more lumber, which is reflected in the price, worth it if privacy or wind exposure is a real concern.
Custom Ironwork Accents: Because we fabricate in-house, we can add decorative gate hinges, hinge straps, post cap finials, custom latch hardware, address plaques, and ornamental accents that most contractors can’t offer. Fabricated in our Kent shop, powder-coated to complement your fence, installed by the same crew that built it. Bring us a reference image and we’ll tell you if we can build it.
Custom ironwork pricing varies by design. Contact us to discuss.
Chain link is highly customizable. Depending on your security requirements, we can add:
Most enhancements can be added to existing chain link fences as well as new installations.
Two options for properties where standard installation isn’t the right call.
Post-on-Pipe: Steel pipe in concrete carries the structural load; cedar boards attach above grade. The wood never contacts the soil. Post rot at grade is the most common reason cedar fences fail prematurely in Seattle’s climate — post-on-pipe removes that failure point entirely. Higher upfront cost, lower long-term cost.
Deep Concrete Footings: For sites with significant grade change, expansive clay soil, properties near water, or commercial applications where post stability is a code concern. We can also install reinforced base rail systems that distribute load between posts rather than concentrating it at each post. If your site has conditions a standard installation might not handle, tell us at the consultation.
Gates sag. Frames rack. Hinges pull loose. These are fixable without replacing the whole fence — but a new hinge on a failing post isn’t a repair, it’s a delay. We assess the gate, hardware, and post condition before recommending an approach, and we’ll tell you upfront if the post needs resetting. Available as a standalone service.
Contact us to describe the issue — we can usually tell you over the phone whether it’s a straightforward fix.
No Runaround. No Surprise Costs.
We walk through what you’re trying to accomplish and recommend the upgrades that actually address it. If something won’t solve the problem, we’ll say so.
Every add-on is line-itemed. You see exactly what each upgrade costs and what it includes. No surprises on invoice day.
Our in-house team handles the build, whether it’s part of a new fence or a standalone retrofit. No handoffs.
Every gate gets operated, every function gets tested. The full installation carries our 3-year craftsmanship warranty.
During installation wherever possible. Anti-dig boards, gate arbors, turnbuckles, board-on-board, and structural upgrades are all simpler and less expensive to build in from the start. We'll tell you which ones can wait without consequence and which ones are significantly harder to add after the fact.
It works for dogs that dig shallowly, which covers most. For dogs that dig two feet or deeper, we'll spec a buried mesh apron or concrete footer instead. Tell us about your dog's behavior and we'll recommend the right solution.
Possibly. We'll assess the gate structure, weight, and hardware before recommending an operator. If the gate isn't suited for automation, we'll tell you what needs to be addressed first — installing an operator on the wrong gate structure just moves the failure point.
Yes in most cases. Privacy slats, barbed wire, and vinyl coating can be retrofitted depending on the condition of the existing fence and posts. We'll assess it before recommending what can be added cleanly.
Yes. Everything we install as part of a new build or as a standalone retrofit is covered under our 3-year craftsmanship warranty. If it fails due to workmanship, we come back and fix it.
Most fence companies work from a short list of off-the-shelf add-ons because that’s all they can offer without fabrication equipment. At Inline Security Fence, we have our own shop in Kent. The people who build your gate are on our payroll, working to the same standard on every job, which is why we can say yes to things most fence companies don’t quote, and back everything with a warranty from the team that built it.
